Pneumonia Study: Data Sheet, Study Flow, FAQs
 

Overview: A study designed to evaluate patients admitted to the hospital for pneumonia. The goal of the study is to eventually characterize the subset of patients that end up having MRSA pneumonia.
 

Study Endpoints: Evidence of MRSA pneumonia

Eligible Patients: 18 or older; physician has intention to admit patient to hospital due to pneumonia symptoms (actual or suspected).  

Study Design: Prospective, observational trial
 

Anticipated Benefits: None
 

Potential Risks: None 
 

Research Associate’s Role: Identify and screen any patients presenting to ED for pneumonia. Ask physician to determine if patient will be admitted. If yes, consent patient and then have physician fill out questionnaire packet.   
 

Physician’s Role: The RA will notify physician if any potential pneumonia patients present. Physician will then be given packet to complete.
 

Location of Study Packets: Team Center B and C (center islands). Please write complete on top of folder and attach sticker to it. Put completed questionnaire back into folder and leave in media room (in back left corner near hypotension studies).
