Splandaid Bandage: Data Sheet, Study Flow, Data Collection Tips, FAQs

Overview: This study is designed to evaluate how well a new type of bandage for finger injuries being treated in the Emergency Department works. 

Primary Endpoints: Completed survey regarding how well bandage works.

Eligible Patients: Patients who are at least 18 and are not intoxicated. They must have complaint of finger laceration, jam, sprain, or other non-displaced fracture injuries.
 

Study Design: Prospective observational trial

Potential Risks: none

Research Associate’s Role: Research Associates are responsible for identifying eligible patients for this study and recruiting them. The RA should first locate the PMP and receive their permission to use a Splandaid.
 

Physician’s Role: The physician will be asked to fill out a short survey about the Splandaid bandage and may be asked to help the RA put the bandage on.
